Driving my parents crazy in the car ride with my #learningproject

So it is time to get back into the swing of things here!

I know it has been a while since my last blog post and I promise to be much more consistent going forward. As I mentioned in an earlier blog post I haven’t had a functioning computer in a while. Now that I do I will be blogging and making sure that you are all up to date on what is happening. The good news is that most of my learning project was being done on my phone using the app called Duolingo. So I was still able to keep up with my project. The problem became documenting it.

Hitting the slopes and learning French

I know in my last blog post I said I would be experimenting with using video… and I promise that will be happening in the very near future. For now, I just have to get caught up on documenting what I am doing. So expect to see that in a week or two.

The majority of this weeks blog post occurs over reading week. I was a little bit concerned that I was going to fall behind on my project as I wanted to have some time to just relax and forget about school. I went on a ski trip to Fernie with my family and this ended up allowing me a ton of time to work on my French. In between my constant napping in the back seat, I was able to put in quite a bit of time practising. Unfortunately, nobody in my family speaks French so I wasn’t able to practice with them but it was still good. I am sure I might have driven them a little bit crazy.

I was able to keep up the streak that I had going and in fact, I was actually able to extend it another week. As I have mentioned before I really like the prompting that the app gives you because it is a really great motivator.

Stay tuned for whats coming next week! It is sure to surprise you.

  1. I find my parents are going crazy as well as I continue to practice learning guitar. We all have weeks where things just don’t go as planned and a blog post doesn’t work out. I tend to combine the two weeks in one post if that happens and just do a quick synopsis of what had happened in the week I didn’t make a dedicated post to! Keep up the great work!

  2. You should try singing in French next time you’re in the car with your parents. Everyone knows you instantly sing better when you are in the shower or in the car. Perhaps it will help with sing in French too!
